Dr. Wright said that he still looks good and to come back in 3 months again. We also had an appointment with the endocrinologist for Kody's thyroid. Dr. Donaldson could feel Kody's thyroid and said that it was hard because it has been damaged from the radiation, he said it would not recover. So Kody is on a thyroid medicine and seems to be doing fine on it. Kody's saliva glands have also been damaged from the radiation and he does not think that they will recover either so he just said to always have Kody take a water bottle with him to keep his mouth moist.
While we were in Salt Lake we were also able to go to a Bees baseball game, This Is The Place park, Mayan for dinner, Gateway and swimming at the motel. We had a good time!!
Kelton got his drivers license in May, so now he is mobile. It seems so wierd that he is going to be a junior this year. He worked a little bit at a farm and loved it but now he is trying to spend as much time as he can in the mountains.
Kailee is at girls camp this week and I hope that she is having a good time. Kailee will be in 8th grade this year, my kids are growing way to fast!!
Kelton, Kailee and Dax were able to go up to Ephraim to the Lion's tournament and help Aunt Bev with the concessions. They all had a wonderful time and really enjoyed getting away for a little bit.
Dax is still playing baseball, little league is over but he still has travel ball. He has a tournament July 24th and 25th and then again on July 31st and August 1st. They are both here in Cedar so we are excited that we don't have to travel. Dax will start 6th grade next month so that means Middle School! yuck!
Karl started the laundry room addition on our house so that takes up all his spare time. It will be so nice when it is done. He has it all framed and the trusses on so it is moving quickly.
I have started getting calls for Super Saturdays so hopefully I can get alot scheduled for this fall. I have one tomorrow in St. George for Marcy's ward so I guess my craziness has begun. Oh wait I think I am already crazy!!

Relay for Life/ Team KodyBug

Kailee and I are thinking about putting a "Team KodyBug" together for Relay for Life on April 17th and 18th. Is anyone interested in being on our team? I am trying to come up with a cute campsite and maybe somethings to sell to raise money. Let me know if you are interested A.S.A.P. as we will need to get signed up soon. I think it would be lots of fun.

New Addiction

So I am hoping to have a new addiction!! I have a friend who knows how to shop with coupons and etc. so she is helping me. I went to the store today and this is what I got.
2 muffin mixes, 13 cake mixes, 6 brownie mixes, 8 cookie pouches, 10 progresso soups, 2 boxes Trix cereal, 2 boxes Cinnamon Toast Crunch, 5 frosting, 6 grands biscuits, 15 boxes fruit snacks, 6 pilsbury cookie dough, 4 toaster strudels, 3 chex mix, 2 chex mix bars and 5 granola bars.
O.k. so this probably sounds like alot but you have to remember I have 3 growing boys and things get eaten fast!! So you are probably wondering what I paid for all of this, it was $60.25!!!! Regular price would of been $304.65. Plus I have $13.50 that I can go back and spend on anything. This doesn't look like much in the picture but it pretty much takes up by whole bar, there is a ton of stuff. So I am thinking I did o.k. for my first time. Hopefully I will be able to get my food storage built up without spending huge amounts of money. Wish me luck!

Winter Blues!!

So I guess I have the winter blues because I want to redo everything!! A couple of months ago I found this comforter set at Walmart, after reading all of the reviews I decided I would get it and try it out. We painted the walls and this is what it looks like now. I wish I would have taken before pictures but I didn't think about it until we were all done painting. I really like it!!

Now we have started on Kailee's room, last Saturday we were in St. George for a baseball tournament and our games got cancelled so we went to the mall. I went to Dillard's because a friend of mine said they were having a huge sale. I saw a way cute pink and brown comforter set that was priced at $360.00 and it was marked down 70% to $108.00 and then it was another 50% off so we got it for $54.00!! I then asked if they had all the accesories to go with it and after talking to 3 different sales people, they found everything. We ended up with 2 huge pillows, 2 square pillows, 2 rectangle pillows, comforter, shams, bedskirt and curtains. It added up to $790.00 and we got it all for $115.00. So last night we painted one of her walls dark brown and tonight we are going to paint the others a pale pink. It should be way cute!

I was also going to post a couple of pictures of my latest projects:

The Valentine plaque I also made Halloween, Fall and Winter, I have designed a Spring and Summer so I will try and get those posted.

The big frame isn't a very good picture but you can kind of see what it is supposed to look like.

I made this frame for Kim's little baby Brooke for Christmas it turned out cute.

Pay it forward

So, I got this from a friend. I am not very good at this blogger thing.

This past weekend we went to St. George for a baseball tournament for Dax's team. It was so nice to get out of the snow and enjoy some sun. His team didn't do to well, they must have been rusty from the break they have had. Dax pitched in 3 of the games and I was very impressed with how well he did. He hasn't pitched much since little league season last year so I wasn't sure what to expect but he looked really good. We about froze to death during the games on Friday night, it is definitely still to cold to play at night even in St. George but the Saturday games were awesome, it wasn't too cold or too hot.

Kelton has been taking drivers ed. and will get his license in May, I cannot believe that I will have a 16 year old. I am getting way old!! He is taller than I am and almost as tall as his dad. We are hoping that he will be playing high school baseball but he is to shy to ask anyone about it so we will have to see what happens. His latest hobby is snowmobiling, he has been going with Jason and Ryan and absolutely loves it. This boy better have a good paying job because he wants everything and can't imagine why we just don't go buy it. Reality will set in sooner or later! He is such a good kid, the only problem he usually gives us is getting homework done.

Kailee is still taking dance lessons and loves it, she is working on her duet that she is doing with Erika Lovell for the spring recital. She still babysits and has lots of people that just love to have her babysit for them. She has grown up a lot this year, she is not my little girl anymore. I can't believe how fast time goes but she is a sweetheart and never has to be asked to get her homework done, she just does it.

Kody is doing awesome, I think he has grown 6 in. since he stopped chemo. I can't believe how tall he has gotten. He still is Mr. Sports and loves to be playing whatever the other 2 boys are playing. We go back up to Primary Children's on March 17th for his next set of scans and blood work. Hopefully they will be able to tell what is going on with his thyroid and everything will come back clear. We just heard about a girl that was diagnosed the same time as him and hers just came back again in December. Hopefully Kody's will stay away!

Karl is still working at Stocks and is very lucky to still have a job, they have laid off a lot of people. He is working with the Deacons at church and seems to enjoy it. We can't wait for the snow to melt so that we can get some outside projects done.

Keri is still working and the orthodontist office and I love it! I am also still doing vinyl but have had to start all over again, I took my computer in to get it fixed and they had to clear everything off of it and they didn't save all of my vinyl files before they did that so I lost 3 years worth of work, hundreds of hours. I was devastated but there is nothing I can do about it other that start over. I love to do projects and always have something in the mix, I will have to post some of my latest ones. At church I am working with the 10/11 year old activity day girls and it is lots of fun, I don't know how long it will last as our ward is being split again on the 8th.

I really am going to try and update more often, I would love to use this as a journal.

Scans

Kody, Dax and I are headed to Salt Lake Monday night for Kody's scans on Tuesday. We have to be to Primary Children's by 8:00 a.m. for Kody to start drinking the contrast for his CT Scan. Then we will meet with Dr. Wright the oncologist.
Kim will be having her c-section on Tuesday morning unless she goes in to labor before hand but so far no luck! So we will drive down to Provo and see Kim and the new baby girl.
Then Kody has been invited to the Children with Cancer Christmas Foundation party that is held at Lavell Edwards Stadium on the BYU campus. On Tuesday night they let the parents come and "shop" for free for gifts for their kids and then Wednesday night they have a dinner, program, games and the BYU Basketball players are there to sign autographs and play with the kids. Kody and Dax are both way excited to go, so hopefully I can get lots done before we leave since we will be gone for 3 days!
Last night was my work party for Dr. Whetten's office, we had lots of fun as always and tonight is Kailee's dance recital and she is performing a solo.
We will let you all know how Kody's scans come back, we are all praying for another clear one!!
Merry Christmas!

Breakfast with Santa

On Saturday we were invited to Breakfast with Santa, it was put on by the Make A Wish Foundation. We had a really yummy breakfast, visit from Santa and some crafts that Kody could make. There were about 14 different wish families there from Southern Utah. It was really fun and Kody loved it. After we got done I went back to work while Karl, Kody and Dax went to baseball practice then it was off to the Storybook Calvacade Parade. We then finished the afternoon off by going to watch Kailee's dance group perform at the Heritage Center, they did awesome. I was very impressed!!
I can't believe how fast Christmas is coming, I have just about got all the shopping done and delivered the last of my neighbor gifts last night. We ended up making 16 Christmas Countdowns and 12 cheeseballs and crackers. That is a total of 28 neighbor gifts so maybe I delivered to a few more than just neighbors!! We had a lot of fun delivering them, we made us some hot chocolate and then loaded us all in the suburban and we were off. I think I am going to have to make another round of cheeseballs because so far I have thought of 5 more families that I would like to give to.
We also pick a family every year to do the 12 days of Christmas too and it starts on Saturday so the kids are looking forward to that.
Tonight we are going to go pick an Angel off the Angel Tree at Walmart and shop for them and then go watch Kailee dance at the SUU basketball game, should be lots of fun!

This was actually written on Saturday November 29th.

Wow, what a week!! We arrived home last night about 2:30 a.m., it was an awesome week, one that will never be matched. It was so much fun but we are exhausted. We tried to fit everything we possibly could into one week and we still didn't see everything. We drove to Las Vegas on Friday night and spent the night at Planet Hollywood and met up with Scott for dinner at PF Changs. We flew out of Vegas at 11:45 a.m. and had a layover in Denver and then flew to Orlando. We didn't arrive in Orlando until 10:30 p.m. We were met at the airport by a represenative from "Give Kids the World Village". She took us to get our rental car and then we were off to the village. We weren't sure what to expect but when we got there they were waiting for us and got us all checked in to our villa. Our villa had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, and kitchen. We got up Sunday morning and headed to Disney World, we went to Magic Kingdom. With our park hopper passes we were also given a pass that would get us on all the rides without having to wait in line. We will never be able to go back because we were spoiled and got right in to everything. Even when there was a meet the character we just had to walk to the attendant and they would put us at the front of the line!! I think the longest we waited in line was 10 minutes. We spent the whole day at the Magic Kingdom and saw the electric light parades and also the fireworks, they were awesome. The time change was killing us because the kids would still be ready to go at 11:00 p.m. because it was only 9:00 utah time and then when the mornings came it, we were getting up 2 hours earlier. We never really adjusted. On Monday we headed to Sea World, we had a hard time getting out of the village in the mornings because of all the fun things to do. There was a carousel (which Kody calls a Serrus Wheel, miniature golf, pool table, video games, ice cream palace, swimming pools,
driving miniature boats, train rides, movie theater, miniature train set that was the most amazing model train set I have ever seen.) So, by the time we got ready had breakfast and played a couple of games it was already 11:00 and Sea World closed at 6:00 so we didn't get to see everything. We did however see the Shamu show, The Shamu Christmas show, the dolphin show and the seal and otter show plus a couple of rides. Also we got free dead fish to feed the stingrays and the dolphins.
On Tuesday we went to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, there wasn't very many rides that Kody could ride on so he got a little bored. The 2 water rides that he could of went on it was too cold to get wet. We left a little early so that we could get back to the village because they were having a Christmas night, Santa was there and they gave every kid including the siblings a toy, they had a Christmas Parade, cookie decorating, hot chocolate and horse carriage rides. Kody really enjoyed it so I was glad that we had made it back. On Wednesday we went to Disney Studios (also known as MGM) and also to Epcot. We had lots of fun at Disney Studios but by the time we got to Epcot everyone was getting pretty tired so we ended up just going on a few rides and then went to have dinner at Olive Garden. On Thursday we got up with plans to spend the day at Magic Kingdom but after we got done with breakfast the kids decided they would rather play at the village for a while. They had movies running all day in the theater so we watched The Bee Movie and Kung Fu Panda, they also played miniature golf, went swimming, rode on the train and drove the mini boats. I think the kids were tired of crowds and walking and needed a break from the parks. We had Thanksgiving dinner at the village which definately was not my mom's cooking but it worked and then we went to The Magic Kingdom for the night. By the time we got there it was about 7:30 and it was packed but as the night went it got better. We still didn't wait to get on any rides in fact there was hardly anyone in the regular lines. We stayed until it closed and then did some shopping for souveniers. We couldn't believe that it was our last night, what a wonderful week we had. The kids were awesome and just let Kody have the time of his life. I wish we would have got to sight see a little more but other than that it was great. On Friday we had to be packed up and out of our villa by 11:00 and our flight wasn't until 5:15 so we decided to go and do some Christmas shopping at the factory stores since it was black Friday, we found lots of good deals and had to buy another suit case to get it all home! We asked 2 different people how long it would take to get to the airport from there and they both said 15 min. so we shopped until the very last minute. Well, on our way to the airport we got lost and didn't arrive to turn in our rental car until 1 hour before our flight was to leave, we told the kids to grab their suitcases and run since we still had to get our tickets, check baggage, go through security and get to the other side of the airport. You should of seen it, the 6 of us running through the airport and Kailee saying "don't worry, we will think back to this and laugh!!" Well, we did pretty good and got to security where we got in to the slow line, surprise, surprise!! We all got through (with the exception of me that of course had to be searched because I set off the alarm twice)and we had bought Kody a snow globe with 2008 on it to put in his cancer box, I guess you can't have that in you carry on so that made me go back out and mail it at the Disney store for 9.95, this meant I would have to go through security again so Karl took the kids and headed to the gate. This time when I went through security they searched me even more, how embarassing!! I ran to the tram and headed up to the gate just as they were boarding our plane, we made it!!

Baseball

U.E.A. weekend was spent in Spanish Fork for a baseball tournament with Dax. Kailee, Dax, Kody and I drove up on Thursday for Dax's games. They didn't win either game but they played some good baseball. It is always fun to watch them. After the games we went to the mall to do a little shopping and dinner at PF Changs, it was yummy!! Karl drove up on Friday morning with Preston White and they got there for the first game which we won 11-4 against Wasatch Knox. For the second game on Friday we had to play one of the teams from Thursday and I think that our kids think if they get beat once by a team they can't ever win them again. So we lost the 2nd game too. Wasatch Knox lost all 4 of their games and in the tournament they played the #1 team that had not gotten beaten yet and Knox beat them to win the championship, and to think that we beat them 11-4. Oh well maybe next time.

Ok, Ok, Ok I guess I will update. Everyone has been telling me to update but I haven't been able to find 5 min. to sit down and do it. Our life has been crazy which is normal, if it was any different we wouldn't know what to do.
Dax still has 2 practices a day, baseball and football and then on Mondays Dax and Kelton are lucky enough to go down to St. George and have the professional (Jeremy Thomas) help them. I realized how much Jeremy has helped Dax when we went to the tournament this weekend, Dax had some awesome hits. This is his last week of football and he is way excited. I think two practices a day is getting to him. He has been playing baseball since March but he loves it and absolutely loves the traveling baseball team that he is on.
Kelton has been practicing with the high school baseball team for fall ball so hopefully he has a good chance of making the team this spring. Kelton is the MIGHTY HUNTER, during hunting season that is all he wants to do. He loves to be in the outdoors camping and hiking. He had a tag for archery deer and elk but he didn't manage to get a kill. I really don't think that Kelton thinks about anything else, thank goodness it's not girls!!
Kailee is loving dance and has decided to do another solo this year at the Christmas recital. She has been babysitting alot and loves to read blogs, she is one of the reasons I decided I better get mine updated.
Kody is doing awesome, he loves kindergarten but doesn't really like the morning thing. He has a hard time getting up and going. We go to Primary Children's on November 18th for his next PET scan and doctor visit, hopefully is still o.k. He tells everyone that cancer sucks and he is done with it!! I hope that he is right.
In my spare time I have been doing super saturday's for different wards in Cedar. So far I have 15 scheduled and 4 done. This week I have 2 tomorrow and 3 on Saturday so then I will be done to only 6 more!! I love it and it keeps me busy.
Karl always has a project also, oh maybe that is because he builds all my frames and cuts all my wood for me. He does have his own projects too, he added on to our deck so it runs that whole length of my house and then he is in the middle of putting a roof over the deck. He is such a handyman, I love it!!
That is our life in a nutshell, crazy but fun.

Labor Day

On Friday August 29th we went to Spanish Fork for Dax's baseball tournament. His first game was at 4:30 and they won, the next game was at 6:30 but they weren't so fortunate. They did really good the whole game and the score was 6-3 for us but in the last inning the other team starting hitting really good. They lost 12-6. On Saturday their first game was at 11:30 and the same thing happened, they played really good and then lost it in the end. Our last game was at 3:30 and they played the Lehi Tigers, we knew this was going to be a hard game because the Lehi Tigers have won the Tournament of Champions for the last 3 years. Dax did have an awesome hit, if they would have had the fences up for regular little league field it would have went over but they didn't and so he ran to 3rd and his coach sent him home and they got him out at home. He was so sad but he said he was just going to tell everyone he hit it over. As soon as their game got over we ran Dax and his best friend Kache White to the BYU football game with my mom, dad, Kody and his best friend Kolby White. The game was sold out and they were not letting anyone in so Karl, Kailee and I sat outside the gate until the middle of the 4th quarter and then they finally quit taking tickets so then we could go in and see the rest, BYU won 41-17 (I think). After the game got over we went to dinner with the White's at Olive Garden after waiting an hour and a half to get in we finally had some dinner. Then of course the kids all needed an 11:00 swim to get them ready for bed. Our weekend did not end there, on Sunday we decided to drive up to Park City and stay the night. We had lots of big plans and things we wanted to do but the weather didn't cooperate it was cold and rainy. Of course we had to make a quick trip to instacare because Karl went into anaphylactic shock, something that is happening quite a bit lately. They gave him some epinephrine and solumedrol and then he was good again and could breath. On Monday we went the back way to Provo and it was absolutely gorgeous, I love it up there. The leaves were just barely starting to change but it was a great ride.
We made it home in time to have dutch oven potatoes at my mom and dad's house, they were yummy, now it is back to real life.

First Day of School

I can not believe that the summer is over.
