Don't anyone fall over in amazment since I am finally updating my blog!!
On June 16-18th we went to Salt Lake for Kody's scans and check-up. Dr. Wright said that he still looks good and to come back in 3 months again. We also had an appointment with the endocrinologist for Kody's thyroid. Dr. Donaldson could feel Kody's thyroid and said that it was hard because it has been damaged from the radiation, he said it would not recover. So Kody is on a thyroid medicine and seems to be doing fine on it. Kody's saliva glands have also been damaged from the radiation and he does not think that they will recover either so he just said to always have Kody take a water bottle with him to keep his mouth moist.
While we were in Salt Lake we were also able to go to a Bees baseball game, This Is The Place park, Mayan for dinner, Gateway and swimming at the motel. We had a good time!!
Kelton got his drivers license in May, so now he is mobile. It seems so wierd that he is going to be a junior this year. He worked a little bit at a farm and loved it but now he is trying to spend as much time as he can in the mountains.
Kailee is at girls camp this week and I hope that she is having a good time. Kailee will be in 8th grade this year, my kids are growing way to fast!!
Kelton, Kailee and Dax were able to go up to Ephraim to the Lion's tournament and help Aunt Bev with the concessions. They all had a wonderful time and really enjoyed getting away for a little bit.
Dax is still playing baseball, little league is over but he still has travel ball. He has a tournament July 24th and 25th and then again on July 31st and August 1st. They are both here in Cedar so we are excited that we don't have to travel. Dax will start 6th grade next month so that means Middle School! yuck!
Karl started the laundry room addition on our house so that takes up all his spare time. It will be so nice when it is done. He has it all framed and the trusses on so it is moving quickly.
I have started getting calls for Super Saturdays so hopefully I can get alot scheduled for this fall. I have one tomorrow in St. George for Marcy's ward so I guess my craziness has begun. Oh wait I think I am already crazy!!

Relay for Life/ Team KodyBug

Kailee and I are thinking about putting a "Team KodyBug" together for Relay for Life on April 17th and 18th. Is anyone interested in being on our team? I am trying to come up with a cute campsite and maybe somethings to sell to raise money. Let me know if you are interested A.S.A.P. as we will need to get signed up soon. I think it would be lots of fun.

New Addiction

So I am hoping to have a new addiction!! I have a friend who knows how to shop with coupons and etc. so she is helping me. I went to the store today and this is what I got.
2 muffin mixes, 13 cake mixes, 6 brownie mixes, 8 cookie pouches, 10 progresso soups, 2 boxes Trix cereal, 2 boxes Cinnamon Toast Crunch, 5 frosting, 6 grands biscuits, 15 boxes fruit snacks, 6 pilsbury cookie dough, 4 toaster strudels, 3 chex mix, 2 chex mix bars and 5 granola bars.
O.k. so this probably sounds like alot but you have to remember I have 3 growing boys and things get eaten fast!! So you are probably wondering what I paid for all of this, it was $60.25!!!! Regular price would of been $304.65. Plus I have $13.50 that I can go back and spend on anything. This doesn't look like much in the picture but it pretty much takes up by whole bar, there is a ton of stuff. So I am thinking I did o.k. for my first time. Hopefully I will be able to get my food storage built up without spending huge amounts of money. Wish me luck!

Winter Blues!!

So I guess I have the winter blues because I want to redo everything!! A couple of months ago I found this comforter set at Walmart, after reading all of the reviews I decided I would get it and try it out. We painted the walls and this is what it looks like now. I wish I would have taken before pictures but I didn't think about it until we were all done painting. I really like it!!

Now we have started on Kailee's room, last Saturday we were in St. George for a baseball tournament and our games got cancelled so we went to the mall. I went to Dillard's because a friend of mine said they were having a huge sale. I saw a way cute pink and brown comforter set that was priced at $360.00 and it was marked down 70% to $108.00 and then it was another 50% off so we got it for $54.00!! I then asked if they had all the accesories to go with it and after talking to 3 different sales people, they found everything. We ended up with 2 huge pillows, 2 square pillows, 2 rectangle pillows, comforter, shams, bedskirt and curtains. It added up to $790.00 and we got it all for $115.00. So last night we painted one of her walls dark brown and tonight we are going to paint the others a pale pink. It should be way cute!

I was also going to post a couple of pictures of my latest projects:

The Valentine plaque I also made Halloween, Fall and Winter, I have designed a Spring and Summer so I will try and get those posted.

The big frame isn't a very good picture but you can kind of see what it is supposed to look like.

I made this frame for Kim's little baby Brooke for Christmas it turned out cute.

  • Oh my!! I am not very good at this blogger thing.
  • This past weekend we went to St. George for a baseball tournament for Dax's team. It was so nice to get out of the snow and enjoy some sun. His team didn't do to well, they must have been rusty from the break they have had. Dax pitched in 3 of the games and I was very impressed with how well he did. He hasn't pitched much since little league season last year so I wasn't sure what to expect but he looked really good. We about froze to death during the games on Friday night, it is definitely still to cold to play at night even in St. George but the Saturday games were awesome, it wasn't too cold or too hot.
  • Kelton has been taking drivers ed. and will get his license in May, I cannot believe that I will have a 16 year old. I am getting way old!! He is taller than I am and almost as tall as his dad. We are hoping that he will be playing high school baseball but he is to shy to ask anyone about it so we will have to see what happens. His latest hobby is snowmobiling, he has been going with Jason and Ryan and absolutely loves it. This boy better have a good paying job because he wants everything and can't imagine why we just don't go buy it. Reality will set in sooner or later! He is such a good kid, the only problem he usually gives us is getting homework done.
  • Kailee is still taking dance lessons and loves it, she is working on her duet that she is doing with Erika Lovell for the spring recital. She still babysits and has lots of people that just love to have her babysit for them. She has grown up a lot this year, she is not my little girl anymore. I can't believe how fast time goes but she is a sweetheart and never has to be asked to get her homework done, she just does it.
  • Kody is doing awesome, I think he has grown 6 in. since he stopped chemo. I can't believe how tall he has gotten. He still is Mr. Sports and loves to be playing whatever the other 2 boys are playing. We go back up to Primary Children's on March 17th for his next set of scans and blood work. Hopefully they will be able to tell what is going on with his thyroid and everything will come back clear. We just heard about a girl that was diagnosed the same time as him and hers just came back again in December. Hopefully Kody's will stay away!
  • Karl is still working at Stocks and is very lucky to still have a job, they have laid off a lot of people. He is working with the Deacons at church and seems to enjoy it. We can't wait for the snow to melt so that we can get some outside projects done.
  • Keri is still working and the orthodontist office and I love it! I am also still doing vinyl but have had to start all over again, I took my computer in to get it fixed and they had to clear everything off of it and they didn't save all of my vinyl files before they did that so I lost 3 years worth of work, hundreds of hours. I was devastated but there is nothing I can do about it other that start over. I love to do projects and always have something in the mix, I will have to post some of my latest ones. At church I am working with the 10/11 year old activity day girls and it is lots of fun, I don't know how long it will last as our ward is being split again on the 8th.
  • I really am going to try and update more often, I would love to use this as a journal.

Scans

Kody, Dax and I are headed to Salt Lake Monday night for Kody's scans on Tuesday. We have to be to Primary Children's by 8:00 a.m. for Kody to start drinking the contrast for his CT Scan. Then we will meet with Dr. Wright the oncologist.
Kim will be having her c-section on Tuesday morning unless she goes in to labor before hand but so far no luck! So we will drive down to Provo and see Kim and the new baby girl.
Then Kody has been invited to the Children with Cancer Christmas Foundation party that is held at Lavell Edwards Stadium on the BYU campus. On Tuesday night they let the parents come and "shop" for free for gifts for their kids and then Wednesday night they have a dinner, program, games and the BYU Basketball players are there to sign autographs and play with the kids. Kody and Dax are both way excited to go, so hopefully I can get lots done before we leave since we will be gone for 3 days!
Last night was my work party for Dr. Whetten's office, we had lots of fun as always and tonight is Kailee's dance recital and she is performing a solo.
We will let you all know how Kody's scans come back, we are all praying for another clear one!!
Merry Christmas!
